The Women In Film/Television & Media Committee supports and develops women in the dynamic new media environment. We provide a launching pad for people who are just starting or transitioning by connecting them with opportunities and established experts in the television and digital entertainment industry. Our goal is to inspire and mentor new talent and to create and maintain a community of people who support our mission to promote diversity in the Media Arts.
This year we are continuing to expand opportunities with other studios, television broadcasters, and multi-media companies. With women still holding a minority position in our industry, we were proud to spotlight new talent and provide venues for
them to learn from the very best. Women In Film amplifies the voices of women who express themselves through the arts and provides connections to peers and established mentors to galvanize their success.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who has participated in the past and good luck to this year’s candidates. A special thank you to Entertainment Weekly and L’Oreal for another fabulous Emmy® party.
Chair, WIF Television & Media Committee
Members of WIF/Los Angeles can apply for the opportunity to pitch an idea for a reality series to top executives and get a shot at a development deal. The top five applicants will be able to present their ideas directly to senior members of a network development team.
Selected WIF Members that apply will get the opportunity to shadow writers, directors, and producers of television series and specials. We present a window into the process that makes high quality programming and a platform to continue working toward your professional goals.
Tape to TV Workshop
Here we super-charge your viewing experience. We start with a script and production discussions before sitting in on the taping of a TV series episode. Afterwards we meet with the cast and production team to gain insights into the process from conception to completion.
New Media Panels
We’ll assemble social and new media experts on current and emerging technologies for internet and mobile platforms. Sessions will cover topics including distribution, marketing, privacy, personal branding and networking.
All of our selected members will be mentored after completing a program so that they can leverage their experience to advance to the next level of their careers.
