PSA Production Program

PSAYou may never see their faces or know their names, but many charities have served thousands with the help of a WIF PSA. The Women In Film Public Service Announcement Production Program brings together Hollywood talent who donate their time and resources to promote organizations that improve the lives of women and children. From creation to distribution, Women In Film members hone their craft by helping charities which otherwise would have no way to publicize their services. Each year, the award-winning PSA Production Program selects four to five charity organizations from throughout the nation to receive a pro bono PSA.

With grants from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the PSA Program has produced over 55 campaigns for the arts, education, health and social services. Women In Film invites you to make a difference with your time, talent and generosity. Support a PSA Production … change a life!

ATTEND THE MONTHLY MEETINGS

psa

The WIF PSA Production Program meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Women In Film office. Attendance at the monthly general meetings are open to anyone who is interested in community service however, in order to hold a crew position and participate in ongoing productions, you must be a WIF member.
The rewards of volunteering time for a PSA production is enormous, both personally and professionally, but it is important to understand who we are and what we expect of you before you begin to work with us. The best way to understand what we do and how you can fit or lend your talents is to attend the monthly PSA Production Program general membership meetings.

VOLUNTEER FOR PRODUCTIONSpsa

All Women In Film PSAs are produced and distributed by Women In Film members. A fundamental principle of the program is that everyone that works on the PSA’s donates their time, talent and services. No one gets paid in dollars – only in good feelings and great experiences!

HOW IT WORKS

Each year, the PSA Production Program chooses four charities for which they will produce a PSA. Once the charities have been chosen, they are each assigned a start date for the following year, based on the availability of the PSA Production Program’s resources and schedule.

BECOME PART OF THE CREATIVE TEAMpsa

For each PSA, the Business Affairs Committee selects a Producer & Director, who will then help complete their team by securing a Writer, Production Manager, Production Designer, and Director of Photography, Associate Producer etc., which allows them to carry out the production process.

The Creative Team is responsible for all aspects of the PSA campaign, from approval of the PSA through development, production, post-production, and distribution. In order to ensure that our development guidelines and procedures are followed, each Creative Team is also assigned an Executive Producer by the Business Affairs Committee. The filming of the WIF PSAs is scheduled over a weekend period.
