MORE Women In Film Contest
In 2007 Women In Film and More Magazine partnered to create both a screenplay contest and a short-film contest exclusively for women over 40. A demographic underrepresented in Hollywood, the competition aims to gain visibility for these women screenwriters and filmmakers.
The MORE Women In Film contest winners had access to key studio development executives and agents. The winning film was screened at the High Falls Film Festival and the winning screenwriter attended an intensive writing workshop at the Austin Writer’s Ranch in Texas. Such luminaries as actresses Angela Bassett, Glenn Close, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sela Ward, Allison Janney, Andie MacDowell, Jeanne Tripplehorn, creator of The L Word Ilene Chaken and producer Gale Anne Hurd were on the judging panel.
