Thursday, March 14, 2013… The Women In Film Foundations’ Film Finishing Fund is celebrating its 28th anniversary, and the open application cyle for the 2013 grants,  with a special, exclusive 8-part interview series, “Grant Winners Talk” published on wif.org.

The series features in-depth interviews with eight FFF grant winners whose films went on to receive industry recognition, critical acclaim and prestigious awards.  In the interviews, the filmmakers will discuss their experiences leading up to receiving the grants and the changes and challenges that followed.  A new interview will be posted each week of the 2013 grant application cycle which runs from now through April 29th.

The interviews will be conducted by Cathleen Summers, producer and WIFF Trustee Board Member.

In the first week we talk with Karin Chien, the producer of Circumstance which was part of our 2010 FFF grant cycle and the 2011 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award: Dramatic Winner.

Los Angeles, CA, March 5, 2013:  Applications are now being accepted for the Women In Film Foundation’s 2013 Film Finishing Fund grants, it was announced today by FFF Committee Co-Chairs Betsy Pollock and Nancy Rae Stone.  The application period continues until April 29, 2013, and the winners will be announced in October, 2013.

The Tri-City Screenings are an unprecedented cultural and professional exchange between Cuban and U.S. Film Communities

The Women In Film International Committee, the Cuban Women Filmmakers Mediatheque, the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematograficos (ICAIC) and the American Cinematheque, in collaboration with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, New York Women In Film & Television, MNN El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center,Women Make Movies, Miami Beach Cinematheque, and Coral Gables Art Cinema, will showcase a selection of short, documentary and feature films directed by Cuban women.  The Showcase includes presentations at USC School of Cinematic Arts, Brooks Institute and Miami International University of Art & Design.
