Women In Film celebrated Black History Month with a special panel discussion on February 8th at the Malibu Chart House restaurant. Featured speakers included actress Emayatzy E. Corinealdi, Judge Carla Garrett, producer Traci Carter, Dr. Stacy L. Smith, and Dr. Jewel Diamond Taylor. The discussion was moderated by producer Kimberly Ogletree. The event also featured Blackhouse Foundation board directors Gina McAllister, Liz Powell, and BF affiliate Khansa Jones-Muhammad.

Bonny Dore, President of Women In Film from 1980 to 1981 passed away this weekend after a long illness. Bonny was also a former Chair of the WIF Foundation, co-founder of the WIF Lucy Awards, winner of the WIF Founders Award and served on the WIF Foundation's Advisory Council. She was also President of her own film and television company, Bonny Dore Productions and its sister company Bonny Dore Management.
