WIF Film Finishing Fund Recipient Receives Emmy Nomination

roberta-grossmanWIF Film Finishing Fund (FFF) winner Blessed is the Match, directed by Roberta Grossman (pictured  left) and scored by Todd Boekelheide has received a 2010 Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or Special.

The film, composed by Oscar and Emmy award-winning composer Todd Boekelheide, (pictured right), is a documentary following the story of Hannah Senesh as she parachuted into Nazi-occupied Europe to help save Hungary’s Jews, only to be imprisoned alongside her mother whom she wanted to rescue the most.  A harrowing account of the only military rescue mission for Jews during the Holocaust, the film is also a touching mother-daughter tale.

,  a foreign film from India with Academy Award aspirations, she looked to the Women In Film Resources Section for help.  There, she connected with Diane Hansen (pictured left), a WIF member who specializes in marketing and public relations.  Diane’s role will be to increase media interest in the Indian actress and tell the story of her transition from Bollywood to Hollywood - as she seeks film roles in the Los Angeles area.

"Freedom Riders" Screens in LA

laurens_grant_smallThe Women In Film in Park City Program is pleased to announce that FREEDOM RIDERS, produced by Laurens Grant, has been chosen for docuweeks!  Laurens was one of the panelists at our 2010 Sundance Film Festival program.

FREEDOM RIDERS screens as part of the International Documentary Association [IDA]'s 14th annual DocuWeeks™, a documentary theatrical showcase designed to qualify films for consideration for the Academy Awards.
