The Women In Film Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Women In Film. Administered by a 31-member board of dedicated professionals in the film, television, and new media industries, the Foundation's goal is to provide scholarships and grants which promote educational and professional opportunities for women working in the entertainment industry. We also strive to preserve the legacies of women in the industry who have blazed a trail for future generations, and are in the process of creating a Community Outreach program which will allow members of the industry to connect with charitable organizations whose services directly benefit women and girls.
Currently, the Foundation's core public programs are the Legacy Series, the Scholarship Program, and the Film Finishing Fund
While the WIF Foundation supports the four core philanthropic programs outlined above, we are not a general film funding organization per se. We regret that at this time we are unable to help filmmakers secure funds for development or production, or to accept direct applications for scholarships (as these are administered by the schools with which we have developed specific scholarship initiatives.) For additional film funding, distribution, and scholarship information, you may wish to research Women Make Movies (wmm.com), the Foundation Center (foundationcenter.org), FastWeb (fastweb.com) and search engines such as google.com for additional sources of funding, as well as your local bookstore, library, and/or university financial aid office.
