The new Women In Film/Television & Media Committee supports and develops women in the dynamic new media environment. We provide a launch pad for people who are just starting or transitioning by connecting them with opportunities and established experts in the television and digital entertainment industry. Our goal is to inspire and mentor new talent and to create and maintain a community of people who support our mission to promote diversity in the Media Arts.
The Committee has launched director shadowing programs, mentorships, and exclusive opportunities with MTV, TNT/TBS, ABC, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. We are continuing to expand opportunities with other studios, television broadcasters, and multi-media companies.
Our first year has been more dazzling than we ever expected. With women still holding a minority position in our industry, we were proud to be able to spotlight new talent and provide a venue for them to learn from the very best.
The Television & Media Committee will stay on top of trends and will create opportunities for growth and exposure of creative talent at all levels. We intend to elevate and spotlight existing star talent in programs and create opportunities for them for television, mobile, and digital entertainment.
