The Women In Film Foundation is proud to announce the launch of FOR THE RECORD, a new program which will document, for the first time ever, the complete history of Women In Film.
FOR THE RECORD’s goal is to reach out and interview current and former Women In Film and Women In Film Foundation Board Members for their personal recollections of working with WIF, the triumphs and challenges and their observations on how the organization has evolved as women’s roles have changed throughout the industry and in the world.
The WIF Board, over the years, has included many of the entertainment industry’s most accomplished and groundbreaking women (and men) producers, directors, writers, executives and more of the film and television industry. Their combined wealth of experience is a powerful educational tool for today’s industry specialists.
FOR THE RECORD will also speak with board members from the over 17 national and 19 International Women In Film chapters. WIF’s international footprint has grown significantly in the past decade and including this perspective is essential to a global awareness of what women have faced and how they have overcome obstacles as pioneers around the world.
The edited interviews will be available as a series of CDs and a companion book called: “Women In Film: For The Record”. It will offer and provide members with valuable, timely information on the realities of working in the media industries. It will at the same time inspire them with past and present perspectives on how Women In Film has grown and flourished.
